Wentzville teen seriously injured in car accident

At about 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, Emily L. Ellison, 18, of Wentzville, was traveling eastbound on Route P at Barton Creek in a 2006 Ford Ranger.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Ellison traveled off the right side of the road and struck a mailbox. Ellison returned to the roadway, crossed the center line and traveled off the left side of the road, striking a ditch and overturning. Ellison was ejected from the vehicle.
She suffered serious injuries and was taken to St. Joseph Health Center by St. Charles County Ambulance.
A 15-year-old female passenger suffered minor injuries and was also taken to St. Joseph Heath Center by St. Charles County Ambulance.
Neither driver nor passenger was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
