There are two positions open in the Wentzville School District Board of Education. Terms will expire in April 2009 for board members Sheryl Cox and Denise Hackman.
Voters will be able to choose from the following candidates on April 7:
Stephanie A. Deterding
Residency: 3 years
Age: 37
Employment: Club Fitness
Education: Graduated from Eureka Senior High School. Completed 2 years at Meramec Community College with an Early Childhood Education Certificate
Memberships/Activities: Member of the Prairie View PTO for 3 years. PTO President for 2 of those years.
Sheryl Cox (Incumbent)
Residency: 21 years
Age: 46
Employment: Ceridien
Education: Some college
Robert Bushway
Residency: 5 years
Age: 36
Employment: Connectria
Education: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, University of Missouri-St. Louis.
Katharine Chaplin
Residency: 5 years
Age: 36
Employment: Stay-at-home-mom
Education: Bachelor of Arts in Archaeology from the University of Maryland in 1994.
Memberships/Activities: St. Peters Moms’ Club for 6 years. Have held the offices of Vice President and President. First-year member of Boone Trail PTA—Chairman of the Holiday Mart.
David Hurst
Residency: 19 years
Age: 49
Employment: General Motors – Wentzville – 30 yrs.
Education: 12th grade
Memberships/Activities: Member United Auto Workers; elected member St. Charles Central Committee 10 year; State Committee Member 9 years; Recording Secretary Greater St. Louis UAW City CAP Council 4 years; Member Lutheran Church; Past Chairman of the Community Services Committee – UA; Past Vice President UAW LU 2250 Wentzville Plant.
