There are three seats open on the Wentzville School District Board of Education. Voters will be able to choose from the following candidates on April 8, 2008:

For the Wentzville School Board: served three times as Secretary, twice as Vice-President, once as President. Currently, Vice-President.
For the Wentzville School District: boundaries committee, hiring committees, k-1 guidelines and many others.

Statements:
My main goal in running for re-election is, as it has been for six years, to serve the over 11,000 children in the Wentzville R-IV School District and provide them with a quality education. I am a native of the area and believe our schools are very important to the communities they serve. I care deeply about our commitment to our children’s future through their success in our schools.

Encouraging District management objectives with an awareness of community concerns; and
Fostering stronger teacher/administrative relationships.

Statement:
As a retired teacher, I will bring educational knowledge and experience to the board. It is vital that we improve communication amongst the professional staff and with the community. This includes soliciting more feedback from those closest to students and their learning – parents and classroom teachers.

I am seeking re-election to the board because I feel that more work needs to be done for the betterment of children in our school district. They are our future and we have to prepare them for that.

I am running for the Board of Education because it is time for positive change in this district. I believe that there needs to be better communication between the board, administration, district employees, students and the public. I promise to listen to all stakeholders and to take their opinions into account when making decisions that affect them. I have been active in the district as a volunteer since I moved to Lake Saint Louis in 1995. I believe that as a teacher and a parent, I would bring a unique perspective to the Board of Education.
