The Wentzville Fire Protection District is proud to announce its involvement with the Emergency Beacon Program.  The fire district is offering special switches or adapters to its residents 60 and older, veterans and residents with medical disabilities free of charge.  The devices change the porch lights or lamps into a flashing light.

The flashing light will help alert emergency units responding to 9-1-1 calls by helping responders locate the address quickly.  The program is funded mainly by donations.  The Wentzville Fire Protection District is donating $500 to help fund the program in the Wentzville area.

The program was started in 2008 by Hank Hermosillo, a St. Peters resident, with donations.  The program’s vision is to have every home in St. Charles County using one of these devices.  The devices are available to all residents in the fire district.  A Charitable donation is not required but will be greatly appreciated as it will help keep this community service going.

The switches or adapters may be acquired at the Wentzville Fire Protection District Station #1 at 209 West Pearce Blvd., Wentzville, MO 63385 during business hours Monday – Friday.  All that is required for picking up a device is to fill out a form indicating where it is being used.  For more information about Emergency Beacon program please call the Wentzville Fire District at (636) 327 – 6239 or check the web-site at ebp.stpetersward3.com.

The Wentzville Fire District covers 88 square miles of Western St. Charles County and includes the cities of Wentzville, Foristell, Flint Hill, and Josephville; as well as large portions of Lake St. Louis, Dardenne Prairie and O’Fallon.
