Foristell, MO
The Wentzville Fire Protection is proud to announce the expansion of personnel at its Station #3 in Foristell, Missouri. Since January of 2009, the fire station has been staffed by two shifts starting at 7:00 am on Monday until 7:00 pm on Friday. The weekend hours were staffed by Reserve (Volunteer) Firefighters.
On Wednesday, January 5th, 2011, this changed with the addition of three more firefighters to the staff. Station #3 is now staffed 24/7 year round. The promoted firefighters came from the ranks of the reserve staff of the Wentzville Fire Protection District. The reserve firefighters had to pass written and physical tests as well as two interviews.
The three firefighters promoted are: FF Eric Hakenewerth, FF Angel Rubio and FF Mike Szarwinski. In addition to the firefighter promotions from the reserve staff, one career firefighter was promoted to Captain of the new shift at Station #3. Firefighter Chris Browder was promoted to the rank of Captain after successfully completing a written test and two interviews.
With the addition of the third shift at Station #3, the fire district is able to expand its services to the resident’s of our community. Since coming on line, the additional staff has allowed the fire district to operate more efficiently in answering calls for service, training and to operate in a safer manner. Firefighter safety has been increased by having more firefighters able to respond to an emergency when they are needed.
The Wentzville Fire District covers 88 square miles of Western St. Charles County and includes the cities of Wentzville, Foristell, Flint Hill, and Josephville; as well as large portions of Lake St. Louis, Dardenne Prairie and O’Fallon.
