Timberland senior Chelsey Freymuth has committed to play basketball for Fontbonne University in Clayton, Missouri.

With her mother Linda and her father Harold at her side, the 6-foot tall forward signed her National Letter of Intent at Timberland High School. Chelsey has played on the Wolves Varsity for the past three years, and was just named the St. Charles Female Athlete of the Year by Suburban Journals.

Chelsey said there were a variety of reasons why she has chosen to play for the Lady Griffins.

“I really like the campus, the coach and the girls on the team,” she said. “It seemed like a great place to be a student athlete.”

Fontbonne’s Head Women’s Basketball Coach Keith Quigley said the university is looking forward to having Chelsey on board.

“We are excited to have her and to get her athleticism and her desire to learn and get better; that is what’s important.”

Chelsey plans to major in psychology.
