While kids rejoice, drivers dread their commutes. Due to icy roads, St. Charles County School Districts are closed today: Fort Zumwalt, Francis Howell, Orchard Farm, St. Charles City and Wentzville. Surrounding area schools cancelled today as well: Elsberry, Troy, Warren, Winfield and Wright City.

A two-car accident on Interstate 70 was one of many. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol:

On Wednesday, December 15 at about 9:47 p.m. Joseph M. Pagan, 29, of Lake Saint Louis, was traveling eastbound on Interstate 70 just east of Route C in a 2002 Chevrolet Camaro. Pagan lost control of the vehicle while traveling up a hill, crossed two lanes of traffic and struck a 2009 GMC Acadia and the concrete median. The Acadia was driven by Paul D. Orso, 52, from St. Charles.

Orso suffered minor injuries and was taken to St. Joseph East Health Center by St. Charles County Ambulance. Both drivers were wearing seat belts during the accident.
