The “Friends of Wentzville Parkswill meet Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 6:00 p.m. at the Green Lantern Senior Center on 506 South Linn Avenue in Wentzville.

This organization was founded by resident, Greg Younger upon realizing Wentzville’s challenge to maintain parks facilities and programs in a city which has recently tripled in size.

The goals of “Friends” are to provide the parks and recreation department with time, talent and funds by organizing volunteers, gathering people as resources and by fund raising.

“Friends of Wentzville Parks” was recognized as a nonprofit organization by the State of Missouri just last month. Wentzville residents, Mark Horst and Jason Thomas, agreed to reside on the Board of Directors. In this short amount of time, the organization has already recruited thirty more volunteers.

For more information about “Friends of Wentzville Parks,” contact Greg Younger at 636-534-2092.
