The firefighters at the Wentzville Fire Protection District Station #3 at 1146 Clinton Prinster Drive in Foristell recently received a donation of a set of pet oxygen masks. The donation came from Mr. Randy Slawski. Mr. Slawski is a member of the North County Obedience Training Club (NCOTC) and a resident of Foristell, Missouri.

The NCOTC encourages responsible dog ownership and provides obedience training to promote a loving bond between owner and dog. The club trains dogs throughout the area. Mark Iken, President of the NCOTC, told Battalion Chief Michael Scott that the club had recently seen a need for these special masks to take care of any pet that suffers from smoke inhalation.

The club has started collecting donations with the goal of having one of these kits on every fire truck in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area. According to Mr. Iken, the kits cost approximately $78 each. The kits contain 3 different size masks (small, medium and large) that would match the size of the pet.

The Pet Oxygen Mask can be used to dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs and even birds. The masks supplied by the club are from WAG’N PET SAFETY GEAR as part of their Wag ‘N O2 Fur Life Program.
