Car overturns after striking tree in early morning accident

At about 1:34 a.m. Wednesday morning, Daniel J. Malloy, 36, of O’Fallon, was traveling eastbound on Route N, east of Forrester Drive in a 2001 Ford Mustang.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Malloy traveled off the left side of the road, struck a ditch, became airborne, struck a tree and overturned. The vehicle came to rest on its top.
Malloy suffered moderate injuries and was taken to St. John’s Hospital in Creve Coeur by St. Charles County Ambulance.
He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Malloy was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving while suspended.
