Wentzville, MO
At about 1:15 a.m. on Saturday, April 4, Curtis T. Burt, 41, of Foristell, was traveling southbound on Route Z, just south of Kammeier Road in a 1988 Mercury Cougar.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Burt was traveling at a high rate of speed and crossed into the path of a northbound 2003 Pontiac Grand Am, driven by Joseph D. Mayer, 20, of O’Fallon.
To avoid a collision, Mayer steered to the left. The front of the Cougar struck the rear passenger side of the Grand Am. The Cougar traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck a tree and overturned. Burt was partially ejected and was pronounced at the scene by Stephanie Ashford of the St. Charles County Ambulance District.
Burt was not wearing a seat belt.
