Senior artists in demand for “Senior Moments”

The St. Peters’ Community & Arts Center is calling on seniors for the “Senior Moments” Art Show. If you are a high school senior, college senior or senior citizen age 55 or older, your artwork is in demand for this show. The categories are: drawing/painting, photography and sculpture/miscellaneous. Please, no nudity in the artwork!

Receiving will be on Tues. Sept. 23 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Community & Arts Center. On Fri., Sept. 26, the show will begin with an awards reception from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Volunteers are needed for the reception. The show will continue until Nov. 3.

The following awards will be presented in each category:
First Place $50
Second Place $25
Third Place $15
Honorable Mention ribbons
Best of Show $100

Any piece of art having ever won first place in a Community & Arts Center-sponsored show is not eligible for competition, but may be accepted for exhibition only.

All accepted two-dimensional works must be suitably framed, complete with hanging wire. All art pieces must remain on display during the full length of the exhibition. The pieces must have been completed within the last two years. The Community & Arts Center reserves the right to combine or limit awards in the event of lack of entries in categories. They also reserve the right to jury work for content and/or theme.

Sales are encouraged and the St. Peters’ Community & Arts Center retains a 25% commission on any work sold during the exhibition. Entrants selling work must submit a W-9 for the Center.

The entry fee is $15 for members of the art center and $20 for non-members, up to three pieces.

This exhibit is supported by the Missouri Arts Council.
