Operation Safe Teen

The St. Peters Police Department participated in the Operation Safe Teen Campaign, funded by the Missouri Department of Transportation Highway Safety Division from March 15- 31.

During the enforcement effort, officers issued a total of 588 traffic tickets, including:
15 Driving While Intoxicated Arrests,
16 Following Too Close citations,
48 Stop Sign Violations,
30 Signal Violations,
8 Failure to Yield,
9 Careless and Imprudent Driving,
205 Speeding citations,
66 Seatbelt violations,
4 Child Restraint violations,
3 Felony Arrests,
6 Drug Arrests,
1 Stolen Vehicle recovered,
17 fugitives apprehended;
and 46 uninsured motorists.

“Hundreds of teens are killed on Missouri roadways each year because they do not take two seconds to buckle up. Our department made the commitment to increase safety belt enforcement in our city by conducting regular traffic stops during this period,” said Chief Tom Bishop.
