Iffrig to be split in two parts
August 27, 2010
St. Peters, MO
As part of the Salt River Road Extension Project, Iffrig Road is being split into two parts beginning Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, when Salt River Road’s embankment will be extended from Mid Rivers Mall Drive west to the Dardenne Creek bridge under construction. Drivers who enter Iffrig at Didion Drive will no longer be able to reach the portion of Iffrig north of Salt River Road.
Construction of Salt River Road will require that Iffrig be permanently split. The south portion will end in a cul-de-sac north of Didion Drive. Properties along this southern portion of Iffrig Road will continue to be accessed from Didion Drive, via Mid Rivers Mall Drive. Properties along the north portion of Iffrig can be accessed using the newly extended portion of Mid Rivers Mall Drive.
The Salt River Road extension will be a new four-lane, east-west road stretching from Highway 370 to Highway 79. The City of St. Peters is managing the portion of the project that extends from Highway 370 to Dardenne Creek west of Mid Rivers Mall Drive. The portion of Salt River Road from Highway 370 to Mid Rivers Mall Drive is expected to be complete and open to traffic by the end of 2010.
The St. Charles County Highway Department will manage the rest of the project from Dardenne Creek west to Highway 79. Learn more about the Salt River Road project and other City of St. Peters construction projects online at www.stpetersmo.net. Click on Road Updates on the home page.
