One reported dead after plane crash

A small aircraft crashed Sunday morning, reportedly killing the pilot. The craft went down in a field on Greens Bottom Road in the Katy Trail Park area in St. Charles around 11:00 a.m.
As of 12:30 p.m., the FAA is en route and expected to arrive in approximately two hours. Reports indicate, that in the meantime, emergency workers are taking photographs, but are not disturbing anything at the scene until more information is gathered.
Authorities on the scene included Central County Fire and Rescue and St Charles County Police.
The victim’s name has not been released because family has not yet been notified.
The cause of the crash is undetermined at this time.
