Library needs Children’s/Young Adult Librarian

The St. Peters branch of the St. Charles City-County Library District is looking for a “creative, energetic librarian to provide Children’s and Young Adult Services.”
The job description includes duties such as serving customers at the Children’s Desk, management and selection of Children’s and Young Adult materials, planning and implementing of Children’s and Young Adult programs, marketing and outreach activities.
As the St. Peters branch building will be replaced, the selected candidate will also help with planning the new building and transferring services to the new location.
The district is looking for candidates with an accredited Masters of Library Science, knowledge of children’s and young adult literature as well as excellent communication skills and experience working with the public or customer service. Experience with Web 2.0 and social networking technologies are also preferred.
The starting salary ranges from $43,776 to $53,304 for MLS and $49,296 to $59,928 for second masters.
