Upcoming discussions:
April 21: Missouri’s wine culture. This talk will be led by St. Charles County Park Historian Ryan Graham and local historian Dr. Anita Mallinckrodt.
May 19: Prehistoric cultures of St. Charles County. Vice President of the Archaeological Research Center of St. Louis, Inc., Joe Harl, will join Ryan Graham to lead this discussion. Harl is completing a book on the region’s prehistoric cultures.
June 23: Becoming a more environmentally-friendly outdoorsman. Park Ranger Joe Saxton will explain ways to be more conscious of the environment as well as give tips for enjoying the Department’s many natural surface trail routes.
July 21: St. Charles County Baseball League. Park Historian, Ryan Graham will lead this presentation about the history of St. Charles County Baseball League teams.
Aug. 18: Photography. Local photographer, Jim Kent will give tips and tricks for capturing quality photos. Kent will focus on proper use of equipment, techniques and composition.
Sept. 22: Tree planting and maintenance. St. Charles County Forestry Supervisor Ben Grossman will discuss the Community Tree Council’s Tree Tour of St. Charles County and also present guidelines for tree maintenance and planting.

The discussions, which provide insight into St. Charles County’s past, present and future, are held on selected Tuesdays from April through September. The talks are held at noon in Room 115 of the St. Charles County Administration Building at 201 North Second Street in downtown St. Charles. Participants are encouraged to bring their lunches and enjoy engaging topics.
