May is Older Americans Month, an observance started in 1963 to honor the legacy and ongoing contributions of seniors and support them as they enter the next stage in life.
As part of the celebration, the St. Charles County Department of Community Health and the Environment is hosting a forum for seniors in our community titled, “Get the Facts on Identity Theft, Insurance, and Medicare.”
The meeting takes place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18 at the health department, 1650 Boone’s Lick Road in St. Charles. Travis Ford, communications directors for the Missouri Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions, and Professional Registration will present timely accurate information about issues older people face. There will also be time set aside for attendees to ask questions. The presentation is geared toward people 55 and older, but all are welcome to attend.
Space is limited, so register today by calling 636-949-7413 or register via e-mail at hmilam@sccmo.org. To find out more about Older Americans Month, log on to www.eldercare.gov or call 1-800-677-1116.
