St. Charles
St. Charles County Councilman, Paul Wynn, a Lt. Colonel in the Army Reserves and who has served tours of duty in Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom, is going back to Iraq this month.
Wynn has accepted a temporary position as a military contractor and will work as a U.S. advisor and liaison to high-level Iraqi military and government officials.
Beginning in mid-December, Wynn will be serving in Baghdad for an undefined period of time, but he knows he will back within a year.
Wynn is a West Point graduate and was elected to the St. Charles County Council in 2007 in District 4. He plans to continue serving the residents of the 4th district with the assistance of modern technology to keep in touch. Wynn will monitor council meetings via the Internet and communicate by e-mail.
“My constituents should continue to contact me knowing I am still available to hear and respond to their issues,” he said. “When they send me mail, phone and e-mail messages, they will be heard as if I were next door.”
“Thank you for your prayers. I hope to return to my family and district within a short time,” said Wynn.
