Accident with fire truck seriously injures driver

At about 4:35 a.m. on Wednesday, David J. Andrzejewski, 42, of O’Fallon, MO was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Lumina westbound on Interstate 70 at Highway 94.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol:
A 2003 Smeal Fire Truck was stopped on the right shoulder of the road and was partially in the lane on the highway. Lights on the truck were activated and the Lumina ran into the back of the fire truck.
Andrzejewski suffered serious injuries and was taken to St. John’s Mercy Medical Center by St. Charles County Ambulance.
It is unknown whether Andrzejewski was wearing a safety device during the accident.
