Accident seriously injures teen

An 18-year-old female driver was taken to the hospital following a motor vehicle accident early on Tuesday morning.
On Oct. 4 at about 2:50 a.m. Chelsey R. Kolkmann, 18, of Florissant, was driving westbound on Highway 370, west of Elm Street in a 2001 Mazda 626.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a guard rail, returned to the roadway and struck the concrete median. The car came to rest on the left shoulder of the road.
Kolkmann suffered serious injuries and was taken to St. Johns Mercy Medical Center in Creve Coeur by St. Charles City EMS.
Kolkmann was not wearing a seatbelt during the accident.
