Accident on I-70 sends drivers to hospital

On Monday, Aug. 3 at about 8:25 a.m., Daniel J. Phlipot, 49, of St. Louis, was driving a 1999 Honda westbound on Interstate 70 just west of Highway 94.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Phlipot slowed for traffic ahead and was struck in the rear by a 2000 Ford Focus driven by Dawn M. Doerr, 42, of Webster City, IA.
Both drivers suffered minor injuries and were taken to St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles by St. Charles County Ambulance.
Phlipot and Doerr were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
